Shortcut to Yio Chu Kang Road from Coral Vale (Fernvale Link) via Gerald Drive

For those who are staying around Fernvale area would have know of this shortcut to Yio Chu Kang Road via Gerald Drive. Many would have used this path to the bus stops at Yio Chu Kang Road for their daily commute to other part of Singapore. Using this path to Punggol Park Connector for morning run or Jalan Kelulut for dinner. Few may also pay a visit to Kampoung Lorong Buangkok. For new residents who yet to know, this photo post will show you the way.

The path starts with a stairway located behind Block 412A Fernvale Link (Coral Vale).

Just a few steps you will reach Gerald Drive. Follow the path and you will pass Summer Villas, Seletar Springs and reach the junction of Mugliston Park and Gerald Drive. Continue walking along Gerald Drive, on the left is a small Mugliston Park Playground and further down on the right is The Gardens@Gerald.  

Yio Chu Kang Road is just ahead. Instead of following the road, use the pathway on the right and the metal staircase up. For those with a bicycle, you can actually push it up the staircase.

Here you are after 5-10 minutes walk at the T junction of Yio Chu Kang and Jalan Kelulut.



On the left is bustop no. 67071 (opp Ch. of St.Vincent de Paul).Bus 50 brings you to Ang Mo Kio Hub and Bishan Junction 8. Bus 70 takes you to Serangoon NEX, Paya Lebar, Suntec City and Shenton Way. Bus 103 goes to Serangoon Sports Complex and end at Serangoon Interchange. Bus 854 passes Comfort Driving Centre at Eunos Link, Kembangan MRT and end at Bedok Interchange.

Across the road is bustop no. 67079 (Ch of St.Vincent de Paul). Bus 50 goes to Sengkang (probably back to your home) and Punggol. Bus 70 end at Yio Chu Kang MRT. Bus 103 brings you to Jalan Kayu and Seletar Aerospace. Bus 854 passes Katib MRT where you can go to the Bottle Tree Park and end at Yishun Interchange.

There are 2 famous restaurants at Jalan Kelulut. One of them is Orchid Live Seafood by Chef Steven which is popular for their lobster porridge. The other is Pietro Ristorante Italiano, a fine dining Italian restaurant by Celebrity Chef Peter Neo

Not going to Yio Chu Kang or Jalan Kelulut, turn left you will reach the Punggol Park Connector. The same path also lead you to Kampong Lorong Buangkok, the last kampong in Singapore.
